GAMES · CHARACTER DESIGN & ANIMATION · WITH BODEGA VIRTUAL · THE TELLY AWARDS

PAC-MAN's 45th anniversary was a chance for Bandai Namco US to mark the game's influence across decades of gaming and pop culture. The brief called for a film that could reconnect longtime players and reach new audiences, told through the people who made PAC-MAN iconic across different eras and regions. Bodega Virtual brought SNEZHANA.NYC CG Studio in, with AVA Studio as collaborator, for the character work, chosen for the studio's expertise in realistic 3D character creation.
The studio delivered the full character build: design, motion capture, animation, and digital clothing tailored to each era. The difficult part was the range. Every character had to belong to a specific decade and still read as a real person, so viewers could place them in time at a glance. Performance is what made that work. The studio shaped the motion capture until each character moved with intent and personality, and leaned on period-accurate styling and garments.
The completed film became the centerpiece of Bandai Namco US's anniversary campaign and was distributed through the brand's official press and social channels. It is the Telly Awards Gold Winner in animation and direction.
